Ingredients
For Marinade:
Chicken-1 lb
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Lemon Juice-2 tspn
Ginger garlic paste-1 table spoon
Mix everything together well and set aside to marinate for an hour. ( I did omit the orange food color usually used when making this recipe)
For Tadka:
Oil-2 table spoon
Green chilis-6 slit
Minced Garlic-1 tspn
Curry leaves-2 sprigs
Onions-1 thinly sliced
Colored peppers-1 cubed
Cilantro-3 table spoon chopped
Chicken 65 powder-1 1/2 table spoon
For Chicken 65 Powder:
Black Pepper-1 tspn
Jeera/Cumin-2 tspn
Sauf/Fennel seeds-3 tspn
Cinnamon-2″
Cloves-4
Dry roast all the spices separately on a low flame and make a fine powder. You can use it according to your spice level.
Method
Heat oil in a pan, add the slit green chili’s, minced garlic and curry leaves and fry till the garlic turn slightly brown.
Add the finely chopped onions and fry till translucent.
Now, add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook on high flame for 5 minutes gently mixing it often. Lower the flame to medium, cover and cook till the chicken is almost cooked.
Add the spice powder to it and gently mix to coat all the chicken pieces. Add the cubed pepper pieces to it and cook for 5 minutes [or till the chicken is completely cooked] on a medium low flame and add the chopped cilantro to it.
Chicken 65 is ready to serve. ENJOY!!
