Spinach Daal

Super simple and  satisfying Daal is so easy to make. Goes very well with hot rotis, phulkas or rice . Enjoy!

Ingredients

Mung Daal-1 cup cooked

Tomato-1/4 cup chopped

Onion-1/4 cup diced

Spinach-2 cups chopped

Salt to taste

Lemon juice-2 tsp

Seasoning

Ghee-2 tsp

Cumin-1 tsp

Black pepper-1/4 tsp crushed

Garlic-2 cloves minced

Green chilis-4 slit

Curry leaves-1 sprig

Asofetida-1/4 tsp

Turmeric-1/2 tsp

Method

Heat the ghee in a pan, add the cumin & black  pepper to it and let the cumin splutter. Now add the minced garlic, green chili’s and curry leaves and let them cook for a minute. Add the asafetida, turmeric and onions and cook till the onions are golden brown. Now, add the tomatoes to it and let them soften. Add the chopped spinach and cook for one minute. Add the cooked daal and salt and bring it to a boil. Turn off flame. Now, add the lemon juice and mix. ENJOY!
