Ingredients
Chicken pieces-1 lb
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Salt-to taste
Lemon Juice-2 tbsp
Mix everything together and let it marinate for atleast 1 hour.
To Grind
Garlic-1/4 cup
Coconut-1/4 cup
Tomato-1 diced
Pepper-2 tbsp
Green Chillis-3
Cinnamon-2 inches
Cloves-4
Fennel seeds-1/2 tsp
Water-1/4 cup
Blend everything into a fine paste and keep ready.
For Sesoning
Ghee-2 tbsp
Shahi Jeera-1/2 tsp
Green chilis-3 [slit lengthwise]
Curry Leaves-1 sprig
Mint leaves-1/4 cup
Method
Heat the ghee in a heavy bottom pan, add the shahi jeera and let it splutter, add the green chilis, mint and curry leaves and let it crackle. remove it and set aside to use it as garnish.
To the same pan,add a little more oil/ghee if needed and add the marinated chicken pieces and let it turn golden brown on all sides. Now, add the ground masala to the chicken and mix till all the chicken pieces get coated in the masala.Cover and let it cook on the medium flame for 5-7 minutes. Gently mix it and continue to cook on low flame and till the chicken is completely cooked.Turn off flame. Transfer it to the serving dish and top it with the seasoning as a garnish.
Serve it with rotis or chapatis.
