Spicy Puffed Kamut


I have always  tried making my snacks with a healthy twist. This spicy puffed Kamut mix is a perfect accompaniment with your evening coffee or tea. Usually it’s made with puffed rice. But, I like this Kamut mix better than the traditional spicy puffed rice blend.

Ingredients

Puffed Kamut-2 cups

For Seasoning 

Olive Oil- 1 tsp

Mustard Seeds- 1/2 tsp

Peanuts- 1/4 cup

Crushed Garlic-6

Red Chilis-2

Curry Leaves- 1 sprig

Turmeric- 1 pinch

Red Chili Powder-1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

Method

Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds and let it splutter. Now, add the peanuts and roast till crisp and golden brown.Add the crushed garlic pods and fry till crisp. Now, add the curry leaves, Chiles, turmeric, red chili powder and salt and mix well. Turn off heat. Add the puffed Kamut and combine till all the kernels are well coated with the spices. Turn the heat back on and gently keep mixing the Kamut till they crisp up. Now turn the heat off  and let it cool.Store in an airtight container. Enjoy with your afternoon tea.
