Presenting to you a very non conventional chutney which is very healthy, tasty & super easy to make. Do try it without fail.
Ingredients
Olive oil-1 tsp
Flaxseeds-2tbsp
Shallots-1 diced
Tomatoes-1 big cubed
Red chilis-5
Garlic cloves-4
Tamrind paste-1/2tsp
Salt to taste
Cilantro-2 sprigs
Seasoning
Ghee-1/2tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
Urad dal-1/2tsp
Curry leaves-1 sprig
Red Chilis-2
Hing-1/4tsp
Method
Heat olive oil in a pan, add the shallots, garlic pods and red chilis and fry for one minute. Add the diced tomatoes to it and fry till the tomatoes are completely cooked. Now, add the flax seeds to it and fry one more minute and turn off heat.
Blend the roasted tomatoes and flax seeds mixture with salt, tamarind paste and cilantro into a smooth paste adding water as required.
For the seasoning, heat the ghee in a small pan, add mustard and let it splutter and add hing and head dal to it and fry till the head dal is slightly golden brown. Now, add the curry leaves & red chilis to it and turn off heat.
Add this seasoning to the blended chutney.
Serve it with your favorite Dosas & Idlis.
